The Mental Capacity Act is all about making decisions and is the Law. Some people can make decisions about their lives and others can make some decisions but not all. As professionals we need to ensure that people have the right support to make as many decisions as possible. During this training session, all participants will investigate the Mental Capacity Act in more detail, look at enabling people to make decisions, acting in best interest and as a last resort the process of applying for DoLS. It is suitable for all staff as the MCA states that care workers must have an awareness of the Act.
